The background is white.

Panel 1. Angstrom, his expression concerned, says "I want to ask you something about what you saw in the Stillwood. Under the lake. After the water *drained*, it's been much harder to get down there --" Zane answers "Doc." We see him from behind and in silhouette.

Panel 2. Zane looks away from Angstrom, his expression disturbed and evasive and his eyes small, blank circles. He says "I don't want to talk about what I saw anymore." Up until now this scene has been colored in springy pastels, but this panel is desaturated, making the colors appear dull and grayish.

Panel 3. Zane, his eyes still small blank circles and his expression anxious, continues "It's a puzzle we'll never find the solution to. *The pattern* is all that kept me safe down there. The pattern is more important for me to decipher." The coloring has returned to the normal pastels.

Panel 4. Angstrom gestures with both hands and says "Wadsworth, even you have to admit what you described beneath the Stillwood is more *concrete* than --" Zane turns his head quickly to the side. With a look of relief on his face, he says "*Iris!* How was your tea?" The word "Iris" is in larger text than the rest of the sentence.

Panel 5. Zane looks troubled as he looks at Iris, saying "Iris...?" Iris, walking toward the table with a blank look on her face, says "Wadsworth. Doc."

Panel 6. Zane says "You look like you've just seen a *ghost*. Which, around here, is to say you look *mildly surprised*."
